The University of Miami offers a wide range of temporary and per diem employment opportunities across various functions. As a temporary or per diem employee, you will have the opportunity to further refine skills, gain valuable experience, and build connections for a successful career!

The role of a temporary employee is critical to the day-to-day operation of the University and also provides valuable hands-on experience. Temporary staff fills in during peak or seasonal time periods, and on special projects. Human Resources coordinates this service in partnership with the departments and makes every effort to fill requests for temporary help as needed.

    Positions Available:

    General Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent as well as at least three years of office administrative and/or clerical support work experience
    • Knowledge of routine office practices and procedures along with simple data processing and transmission principals
    • Ability to utilize computer information systems with the ability to read and decipher data on source documents
    • Ability to enter and verify information with accuracy and at a reasonable rate of speed. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with fluency in the English language
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
    • Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered

    General Qualifications for Medical Temporary Careers:

    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • Knowledge of medical care methods and procedures
    • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination etc.)
    • Excellent patient experience skills
    • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
    • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
    • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
