UCU Housing & Financial Loans

 

University of Miami benefits-eligible(1) faculty and staff have exclusive access to several loan options(2) through the University Credit Union. 

1. Employees classified as temporary, temporary intermittent, faculty-intermittent (seasonal), casual, per diem, or student are not eligible.
2. Employees are not eligible to have more than one loan through University Credit Union, regardless of loan type, outstanding at any time.


Rental Housing Loan

Provides financial assistance for moving from one rental housing to another. Can be used to cover up-front moving costs, realtor fees, security deposit, etc.

Homeowner Moving Expenses Loan

Help to cover moving expenses. Can be used to cover moving expenses for moving into ownership of a house or condominium

Home Emergency Hardship Loan

Financial assistance for certain types of housing related emergencies. Can be used to cover catastrophic rental and homeowner emergencies.

Employee Mortgage Loan Program

  • 97% Loan-to-Value (LTV) Mortgage Loan Program to empower employees to purchase a home with just a 3% down payment.
    • ​Loan 1: 80% Fixed-Rate First Mortgage.​
    • Loan 2: 17% Second Lien Mortgage:
      • Adjustable rate
      • 3/1 Hybrid Home Equity interest rate will be .25% lower than the 80% Fixed Rate First Mortgage

If you are interested in applying for one of these loans, please complete the affidavit and email to totalrewards@miami.edu for review.

Upon approval, the University will forward your form to University Credit Union. A designated loan officer will contact you within two business days once the application has been assigned.
