UM/Aetna plan members are entitled to a free routine eye exam with an Aetna/EyeMed or Bascom Palmer optometrist or ophthalmologist as part of the Well ’Canes free preventive care services. NOTE: Costs for visits to an ophthalmologist for reasons other than preventive care (excluding contact lens fitting) are covered under the UM/Aetna medical plan at a specialist office visit copayment, after deductible. Office visits to an ophthalmologist, optometrist or optician related to the fitting of prescription contact lenses are not covered.
As a member, you can take advantage of vision care discounts available at nationwide providers, whether you're looking to upgrade your existing eyewear, find a better rate or try something new. EyeMed is a nationwide network of eye care providers, including doctors of optometry and opticians, within LensCrafters, Pearl Vision and Target Optical. You can also use any of the participating independent eye care providers who have doctors of optometry practicing at their locations or nearby. VSP Vision Plan (voluntary vision coverage)
There are no cards mailed for the VSP plan. Members can print a personalized VSP Member Vision Card at www.vsp.com by registering an account. Once registered, you can access a temporary card. The card will automatically populate the fields on the left. The card also includes areas on the right that you can customize with your provider’s contact information.
