The role of a temporary employee is critical to the day-to-day operation of the university and also provides valuable hands-on experience. Temporary staff fills in during peak or seasonal time periods, and on special projects. Human Resources coordinates this service in partnership with the departments and makes every effort to fill requests for temporary help as needed.

  • Temporary positions requiring less than 20+ hours per week are referred to as temporary intermittent
  • Temporary positions requiring 20+ hours per week or more may be established for a period of time not to exceed 12-consecutive months

Positions Available

Position Education Certification and Licensing Experience
Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science in nursing required Registered Nurse License; Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) No previous experience required
  • We provide temporary medical support for long and short-term vacancies, leaves, and for peak rush periods or special events
  • We offer a prescreened pool of diverse and qualified temporary candidates with completed background checks and references
  • We perform a background check on every Temporary/Per Diem employee

 

General Qualifications for Medical Temporary Careers

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of medical care methods and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination etc.)
  • Excellent patient experience skills
  • Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
